Fr. Edward Shaner

Fr. Edward was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on December 11, 1958.

He comes from a family of 5; 3 sisters and one brother. Father Ed was ordained for the Diocese of Metuchen, New Jersey on May 25, 1996. Father Ed entered the Religious community of the Pauline Fathers & Brothers in 1999. Father was assigned to the Order’s shrine in Doylestown, PA until September of 2005.

Father Ed was the first pastor of the newly established parish of St Mark in Summerfield, FL in the Diocese of Orlando. Father Ed successfully established the Order’s religious community there and built the parish’s 1,700 seat church (www.stmarkrcc.com). In 2010 Father was assigned to Corpus Christi parish in Buffalo, New York.

In November 2012, Father’s last assignment before coming to St Joseph’s was at Our Lady of Fatima parish as pastor in the Archdiocese of Melbourne, Australia. Father was granted permission to leave the Order to pursue diocesan priesthood and was welcomed by Bishop Estévez into our diocese.

Effective March 1, 2014, Father Ed has been appointed as a Parochial Vicar at Our Lady Star of the Sea, and Priest-in-Charge of Blessed John Paul II Mission, Nocatee.
